Know Your goal

It can be difficult to know what degree you want to get or what job you want after school. That檚 okay! Our or resources like can help you figure out your goals. The sooner you start thinking about your end goal, the easier it is to complete your degree(s) without wasting time or money.

Take it Step by Step

  1. Start thinking about which job you want after college. See or resources like for help.
    1. Example:  I want to work as a geographer.

  2. Research to get the job you want.
    1. Example:  I may need a bachelor檚 degree.

  3. Find out the requirements to get into schools that offer the highest degree you want. Find out their specific major requirements. 
    1. Example:  The geography program at XYZ School requires I have a 2.0 GPA for admission.  XYZ school recommends that, before applying as a transfer student, I complete my Associate of Science and take Statistics and Basic Geography.

  4. Use your time in high school and while you are completing your associate檚 degree to meet the requirements for your end goal. Be sure to include in your plan any incoming transfer credits you've already earned.
    1. Example:  In high school, I will complete college algebra as a dual credit class to prepare for statistics. At 麻豆国产 I will major in the Associate of Science. I will use my incoming statistics transfer credit from a previous college to meet my quantitative reasoning requirement, and I will take Basic Geography for one of my social and behavioral sciences requirements.
